Unpopular opinion time, I guess.
I was nervous about the 2009 movie, sure, but it ultimately fulfilled every one of my expectations. I had no idea there was so much powerful hatred against JJ Abrams until I dove deeper into the Tumblr Trek fandom. What I’m about to say applies to that one movie, because I haven’t seen the new one yet and I’m not going to speculate on its contents because trailers can be misleading and the whole production has been, as expected, secretive to the point that you can’t trust any rumor.
